The trumpet king’s classic 1965 album. Lee Morgan’s 10th Blue Note LP and follow-up to the legendary The Sidewinder. Recorded at the Van Gelder Studio on 21tstApril 1965. Featuring Joe Henderson (tenor sax), Ronnie Mathews (piano), Victor Sproles (bass) and Billy Higgins (drums). Showcases two excellent Morgan originals (‘Desert Moonlight’, ‘Eclipso’) one by Wayne Shorter (‘Edda’) and fellow Blue Note legend Andrew Hill’s dynamic title track. Produced by Alfred Lion. Includes session photography by Francis Wolff and liner notes by esteemed writer Leonard Feather.
BLUE NOTE CLASSIC VINYL EDITION: mono, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal, padded inner sleeves.
