Release date: 26 February 2016
Immediately following his ballad classic "In the Wee Small Hours" (1955, re-released in the Blue Note Tone Poet series), Frank Sinatra, again with master arranger Nelson Riddle, recorded "Songs for Swingin' Lovers!" in 1956. On this album, he replaced the melancholic mood of its predecessor with fresh, vibrant versions of popular songs such as "You Make Me Feel So Young" and "Makin' Whoopee." The album remains one of his most popular swing albums to this day, reaching number 2 in the US and number 1 in the UK album charts in its year of release.
