Radiohead announce a new live album, “Hail to the Thief Live Recordings 2003-2009,” which allowed the band to reevaluate their relationship with their sixth studio album, Hail to the Thief. The album is now available digitally and can be pre-ordered as a one-time pressing, which will be released on October 31. It contains recordings from performances in London, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, and Dublin between 2003 and 2009. The album was mixed by Ben Baptie and mastered by Matt Colton. Thom Yorke said of the new live album: "When I was thinking about how to arrange the Shakespeare Hamlet/Hail to the Thief theater production, I asked to hear some archived live recordings of the songs. I was shocked by the energy with which we played back then. I hardly recognized us, and it helped me find a way forward. We decided to mix and release these live recordings (it would have been crazy to keep them just for ourselves). The whole thing was a very cathartic process. We really hope you enjoy it." The one-off vinyl pressing is also available in a limited edition red version from independent retailers and in a cyan version exclusively from Radiohead's W.A.S.T.E. store. Thom Yorke recently co-created the critically acclaimed production “Hamlet Hail to the Thief” — a fast-paced adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet, accompanied by a deconstructed score of reworked songs from the 2003 album Hail to the Thief. Rolling Stone UK wrote about the new production: “The greatest testament to Yorke and his co-writers is that these worlds merge so seamlessly—as if they were always meant to be together.”
