Delivery

Your order will be sent out as soon as all items are on stock. Items marked as “Available for immediate delivery” usually will be sent out within 24 hours. In order to wait for potentially missing stock, your order can be on hold for up to 4 weeks until all products are available. After those 4 weeks all available items will be sent out. Products not included need to be re-ordered.

Blue Note was home to numerous outstanding Hammond B3 organists in the 1960s, and in 1968 Reuben Wilson emerged as another distinctive stylist. On his debut album "On Broadway", he blends a punchy, deeply grooving organ sound with soul, R&B and hard bop. Wilson is joined by Trevor Lawrence on tenor saxophone, Malcolm Riddick on guitar and Tommy Derrick on drums. The varied programme ranges from the title track "On Broadway" to Aretha Franklin's "Baby I Love You", the Motown hit "Ain't That Peculiar" and the jazz standard "Poinciana". Wilson brings the diverse material together with his powerful, rhythmically assured playing and a strong sense of groove. "On Broadway" marked a confident debut and already revealed the distinctive blend of jazz and soul that would come to define his sound at Blue Note.

This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl and packaged in a single sleeve at Optimal.
