Vinyl lovers among Pink Floyd fans have been waiting eagerly for this. The rock legends are gradually re-releasing all their albums as LPs. The band's first four albums were released in June 2016, followed by more albums in August, including “The Wall”.
“The Wall” is Pink Floyd's eleventh longplayer and also the band's first concept album. It was originally released in 1979 and tells the story of the musician Pink, who, like bassist and singer Roger Waters, lost his father in the war and builds an imaginary wall around himself for this and various other reasons.
Most of the songs on “The Wall” were written by Waters or were the result of a collaboration between Waters and David Gilmour. The album also marks an important turning point in Pink Floyd's career. It was the last album with the classic line-up since 1968, when keyboardist Richard Wright had to leave the band at the end of the recording sessions.
“The Wall” is still the best-selling double album of all time.
All the songs on the reissue were remastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman.
